‘The Cerberus Project’
‘The Cerberus Project’ is the collaborative venture of three award-winning
South Australian jazz musicians, Jason McMahon (Sax), Quentin Angus (Guitar)
and Ed Heddle (Piano). The idea behind ‘The Cerberus Project’ was to emphasise
their compositional abilities while providing a vehicle for their
improvisational skill. The outcome is a unique contemporary jazz sound full of
rhythmic intensity, interesting harmonic structures, and extended
improvisations set in the context of well-formed compositions. Drawing from
influences diverse as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jonathan Kreisberg, Mark Turner and
Brad Mehldau, this is one performance not to be missed.
