Overview:

COMA in conjunction with The Wheatsheaf Hotel, and resident sound engineer Martin Jones, is offering a six month Audio Mentorship as part of its regular Monday night sessions, commencing with the Winter season launch on 3 July 2023.

 

We are looking for someone who is: 

  • Serious about live music production, recording and streaming

  • Currently studying / about to undertake studies / has some prior experience

  • Looking to gain further experience

 

Goals:

  1. To give insight into the workings of an audio venue by directly assisting in the setup and operation of COMA gigs.

  2. To observe and learn the techniques of an operator in a small venue both in practice, and with monthly meetings.

  3. Learn the communication used in both organising gigs and stage management.

  4. To lead the operation of the final show of the year, the COMA end of year concert, paid at a professional rate.

Short-listed applicants will be required to attend a short interview to determine suitability. Interviews will be held in the week commencing 5 June 2023.

2023 Audio Mentorship Opportunity

 

By submitting this application,
the applicant acknowledges they are able to:

  • Attend COMA gigs on the first and third Mondays* of each month of the mentorship duration, from load in through to end of stage pack up (approx. 5-10pm)

  • Attend a 1 hour meeting with Martin Jones (mentor) on the first Monday of each month before load in (approx. 4pm)

  • Be available on Monday 18 December 2023 for culmination of the mentorship, to operate the final gig of the year, the COMA end of year concert.
